Bréhan, 20 November 2014. Olmix Group wins the Entrepreneurial Ambitions Trophy in the Green Business category, awarded by Banque Palatine and iTELE. Hervé Balusson, the group CEO, received the award last evening in a ceremony held at the seat of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (ESEC), at the Palais d’Iéna in Paris.
The Entrepreneurial Ambitions Trophies are intended to reward the mid-cap companies that have high potential to pursue economic growth and demonstrate their capacity to innovate, export or undertake a genuine Green Business and CSR (corporate social responsibility) approach.
They highlight the career path of managers who play an exemplary and leading role in the economic development, employment and influence of France, both at national level and abroad.
Since 2011, the Banque Palatine has been a partner of « Entrepreneurial Ambitions » commentaries, which are broadcast by iTELE every Sunday after the “Hebdo de l’Eco” program presented by Jérôme Libeskind.
This year, 39 enterprises have attended the 3rd season of « Entrepreneurial Ambitions » reportages.
The two other prize winners are ESI GROUP in the International category and THUASNE in the Innovation category. The jury has also awarded a “favourites” prize ex-aequo to BELL&ROSS and DOUBLET.
About Olmix Group
Set up in Bréhan (Morbihan) in 1995 by Hervé Balusson, Olmix Group was born from the willingness to find natural alternatives to the additives used in agriculture. Olmix proposes natural solutions developed on the basis of trace elements, clay and (red, green and brown) algae. A spearhead of marine biotechnologies, this enterprise, which holds a large number of patents and develops a cutting-edge R&D activity, demonstrates that algae are a new path to nutrition and health, for the benefit of the entire food chain.
The ETI is currently structured in three large distinct pools: animal, plant and human. It develops a full range of products (trace elements, organic products for animal hygiene and nutrition …) in three sectors, for the purpose of better feeding the plants and animals and improving human health:
Plant Care : foliar stimulants, soil activators, elicitors to limit the use of pesticides
Animal Care : feed efficiency enhancers, fish meal replacement, immune modulators to limit the use of antibiotics
Human Care : natural emulsifiers and functional ingredients
The Group relies on a network of 20 sites settled in high-growth areas (Asia, Turkey, Africa, South America) and 7 industrial sites worldwide. The ETI, which is listed on the stock exchange but mostly family-owned (75%) is present in 70 countries around the globe, employs 320 collaborators and had a turnover of 65 million Euros in 2013, of which 80% export. 10% of this amount is dedicated to innovation. So far, Olmix has filed 14 patents.
