The International Mycotoxin Conference 2014 took place in the Friendship Hotel in Beijing, China, from May 19 to 23, 2014. This year’s theme was “Perspective on the global prevention and control of mycotoxins”.
The International Mycotoxin Conference focused on roles of public and private sectors on mycotoxin prevention & control and major prevention strategies on mycotoxins at global level. 400 experts from 32 countries attended the conference.
María Ángeles Rodríguez, Olmix mycotoxin product manager, gave the speech entitled “Green algae extracted polysaccharide – modified montmorillonite for mycotoxin adsorption”. The health risk due to exposure to combinations of mycotoxins is unknown as the interaction between coexisting mycotoxins leads to effects that are difficult to predict. The use of the broad spectrum toxin binders as MT.X+ and MMi.S* is key to combat mycotoxins in feed.
