The Olmix International Seminar on Health and Nutrition was held in Bali (Indonesia), from 16th to 17th May.
Addressing antibiotic resistance and its consequences without sacrificing animal performance was the main theme of the Olmix International Seminar on Health and Nutrition held in Bali, Indonesia, in May 2016.
Pioneering in providing solutions for the production of meat, eggs, fish and shrimp without antibiotics for 20 years, Olmix continuously updates its customers and public on the threat of drug residues in food and its implications to the food, feed and farm businesses.
“Governments react to the antibiotic resistance issue by imposing a ban on its use in animal production, starting from Europe, the US and now it is coming to Asia. The consumers, meanwhile, are turning towards healthier, more natural food to avoid the risk of drug residues,” said Mr Hervé Balusson, Olmix’s President & CEO, during the opening of the event. “We are gathering here in Bali to help you to give answers to your governments and customers on animal production without antibiotics through applications of essential elements from seaweeds,” he said.
A total of 200 participants attended several technical conferences that covered topics such us feed safety in animal husbandry, the challenges of the animal industry in Asia and meat quality management through nutrition, among others. During the second day of the seminar they could also choose between three dynamic workshops that were focused on swine, poultry, aquaculture production.
