Olmix Group delivered a speech at the Poznań University of Life Sciences in Poland

María García Suárez, Olmix’s Technical Regional Manager, gave a conference entitled ‘Algae Innovative Solutions in Poultry Production’.

Last September the Poznań University of Life Sciences (Poland) held a day full of conferences that shed light on modern diagnostics of viral and bacterial infections in poultry and practical aspects of applying autovaccines.

The participants had the chance to discuss threats diagnostic or selection of samples, laboratory procedures and interpretation of results, as well as other topics such us broilers gut health and impact on antibiotic use in the EU in 2016 and experience in the use of autovaccines, among others.

In this context, María García Suárez, Olmix’s Technical Service Regional Manager, went on stage to deliver a presentation entitled ‘Algae Innovative Solutions in Poultry Production’, where she described the principles of the Marine Algae Sulfated Polysaccharides (MSP) and presented the results of experiments based on Searup, Olmix’s complementary feed based on marine algae extracts.

”To face the growing demand from consumers to reduce the use of antibiotics in farms, using natural products, OLMIX developed Searup, a complementary feed based on marine algae extracts able to reinforce the natural defenses of animals. MSP are complex polysaccharides, with a branched structure containing different sugars, including rare ones like rahmnose. Moreover, these sugars can carry sulfate groups on their structure. This makes them unique, as this characteristic is not found in any terrestrial plant, and is the origin of their various biological activities”, María García said.
