The challenges of modern agriculture. How can seaweed help address them?

Hervé Balusson, Olmix Group's CEO, addressed the first G20 Agricultural Entrepreneurs Forum held in Xi’an, China.

The First G20 Agriculture Entrepreneur Forum was held in Xi’an (China) on June the 2nd, 2016, under the title "Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainable Agriculture Investment".

The Forum, initiated by China as a side event of the 2016 G20 Agriculture Ministers Meeting, aimed at fostering sound government-business communication for investment into agriculture, creating a platform for business-business dialogue and unleashing the potential of agribusinesses in promoting economic and trade growth and common prosperity in agricultural development among or in G20 members.

Nearly 300 delegates attended the Forum, opened by Mr. Han Changfu, Minister of Agriculture of China, in association with Mr. Phil Hogan, Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development of European Commission, Mr. Jose Graziano da Silva, Director General of the FAO, and Mr. Kanayo Felix Nwanze, President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). CEO of renowned agricultural enterprises of G20 Member States also attended, including representatives of DuPont Crop Protection, CJ CheilJedang Corp., BASF SE, Tate & Lyle Group, China Oil & Foodstuffs Corporation (COFCO), Shanghui, Arla Food, NewHope LiuHe JD Group, Yili, OSI Group, INSUD Group.

Mr. Hervé BALUSSON, CEO of OLMIX, who had been chosen by G20 organizers to represent the French entrepreneurs' delegation, addressed the Forum with a speech about how seaweed-based technologies developed by OLMIX can address the current challenges of modern agriculture. This speech has been recognized for its innovative and unique perspective, bringing sustainable solutions to modern agriculture, to reply to the challenge of feeding 9 billions of humans.
