Neonatal digestive problems and piglet’s dehydration
Neonatal digestive problems often represent the principal cause of piglet’s mortality and generate important economic losses. Due to the development of pathogens in the intestine, they are frequently linked to animal’s dehydration. The latter leads to electrolytes and mineral losses and to poor nutrients assimilation generating energy deficiencies. The affected animals are generally lethargic and are characterized by a pronounced emaciation of the spine, ribs and pelvis. Litter homogeneity is impacted and late growth at weaning is frequently observed.
Seagut paste, an original combination of 3 synergetic actions to optimize intestinal welfare
• Protect the digestive tract: the supply of sulfated polysaccharides with origin in marine algae, boosts the production of mucin and increases the mucus layer in the intestinal tract. Micronized clays cover the epithelium, supplying mechanical protection. Mucosa is better protected and can optimize its barrier function • Favor a balanced intestinal flora with selected essential oils and yeasts extracts • Stabilize physiologic balance: SeaGut Paste contains rapidly available energy sources (spirulina and dextrose) and electrolytes.
