Hens naturally express dust bath behaviour, which limits humidity and lipids in their plumage and reduces the spread of bacteria and parasites that can gather there. (Van Liere, 1992; and Borchelt et al., 1973).

A humid environment has a negative impact on the hen’s plumage, the development of bacteria and also the spread of parasites. A dry environment is therefore essential for maintaining good hygiene and good quality plumage.

Olmix has different adapted tools to apply Mistral Layer according to the egg farm set up and conditions.
APPLICATION FREQUENCY
A number of application strategies are possible:
- Heavy intervention: 2-3 application phases per batch. Each phase is made up of 2 applications 6 days apart, using a dose of 7 g/hen. Given that the first application phase is carried out at the beginning of the batch, this represents 28-42 g/hen/batch.
- Preventive intervention: monthly starting at 2 months, using a dose of 3 g/hen, representing 18-36 g/hen/batch
