Olmix Group visited Japan as a member of the French Innovation Delegation leaded by French Prime Minister Manuel Valls and attended STS Forum in Kyoto (4th, 5th and 6th October).
Olmix Group’s founder and CEO Mr. Hervé Balusson, along with other innovative company’s representatives, accompanied French Prime Minister Valls to Japan for the official launching of the French-Japanese Innovation Year. Mr. Balusson took this opportunity to discuss the strategy of Olmix Group for Japan with Manuel Valls and Finance Minister Emmanuel Macron.
Japanese agriculture sector is looking to enhance its productivity through biotechnology while preserving food safety and naturality. This orientation opens big opportunity for Olmix and its natural products made from seaweeds.
Mr. Balusson also participated inthe official dinner given at the Kantei, the Prime Minister's official residence, where he had the opportunity to meet with Mr. Shinzō Abe, Prime Minister of Japan.
During his tour to Japan, Mr. Balusson also attended the STS Forum in Kyoto, where he was invited as speaker. The STS Forum is an annual international meeting of senior thought leaders in science and engineering policy, research, and business, modeled on the World Economic Forum in Davos. Dr Thomas PAVIE, Director “One Health” at Olmix Group, participated in the session on “Food and nutrition”, where he emphasized on algae, their potential for a productive and healthy food-chain, and the importance of the “one health approach” to fight against antibiotic resistance.
